Whitfields endeavours to play its part in helping those less fortunate, by offering financial support to organizations who strive to make South Africa a better place for all who live here. It is an integral part of who we are as a company, and that also resonates deeply in our company culture, values, and ethos.

This month we feature THE TSHEPO TRUST which is a community upliftment project developed to empower the tertiary education of students of South Africa.

“Offering bursaries, living (laptops, transport, data etc.) support, and psycho-social empowerment, we work with worthy, disadvantaged youngsters and adults who want to complete their studies and unlock their lasting success. We look for individuals who show significant promise, and who are committed to making a difference back home and in their communities. We further work with each beneficiary’s family and ensure they are a part of the overall support process. This provides even more motivation for the youngster to succeed.”

“Our Pay-It-Forward philosophy – Instead of asking our beneficiaries to pay back their funding – we rather encourage everyone to actively contribute to the future of South Africa. Typically, this is either achieved through taking up leadership roles within their fields, mentoring other scholars, or assisting family members and community members in finding employment.”
