What does it even mean to be considerate?
The word “considerate” means being helpful and careful as not to inconvenience or cause harm to others.
When living in community schemes, there is a requirement to be even more considerate of one another as noise for example, can very quickly become a nuisance and out of control.
Managing Agents often receive complaints from Residents about the complete disregard or disrespect perpetrated by others.
The WPM Estate Managers are often required to get involved in disputes that were caused by minor “infractions” and then would escalate into a much more serious altercations between neighbors.
Some examples would be parking in such a manner that would prevent easy access by a fellow resident to his or her vehicle or when music is played in such a manner that would bother other residents.
With Valentines day falling in February, the best advice we could give is to spread a little love towards fellow residents and neighbours and we thought it best to give a few tips:
When having a party or private function, the first step is to tell your neighbours about it and even explain that there may be music and laughing but you will be mindful of the noise levels.
When walking your pet, remember to always have it on a leash and to make sure to pick up after your pet to avoid having your neighbour stepping into a little “surprise”.
When parking your vehicle, be considerate of the way you park to allow your neighbor access to his or her vehicle or even house!
We urge parents to teach their children to be mindful of others and to respect their neighbours’ property.
When driving in and around the scheme, be considerate of kids on bicycles, people running and walking,
We have to ask ourselves how we would feel in a similar situation and how we would want our neighbors to treat us.
Be considerate to each other as this is the first step towards tolerance.
