For all our schemes that have Eskom as a supplier, its that time of the year again!
Owners in schemes with a bulk Eskom direct supply are reminded of the annual April increase which will appear on the June 2024 levy statements (consumption being billed in arrears). The electricity tariffs for the affected schemes will increase by the published 12.74%. Owners which are supplied by their local council, can expect an increase in the region of 12.72% with effect from July 2024. This being subject to the approval of the individual municipalities’ budgets.
ENERGY REGULATOR DECISIONS OF MEETING NUMBER 268 OF 14 DECEMBER 2023
The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) announced that the Energy Regulator, at its meeting held on 14 December 2023, made the following decisions under the electricity industry:
1. Eskom Retail Tariff and Structural Adjustment Application (ERTSA) for 2024/25
2. Electricity Pricing Rule
3. Envusa Energy (Pty) Ltd’s application for an electricity trading licence
4. Eskom Holdings SOC Limited’s application for a six-year Negotiated Pricing Agreement
for the Glencore-Merafe chrome venture ferrochrome smelter operation in Rustenburg, North West Province
