Whitfields endeavours to play its part in helping those less fortunate, by offering financial support to organizations who strive to make South Africa a better place for all who live here. It is an integral part of who we are as a company, and that also resonates deeply in our company culture, values, and ethos. This month we feature Smile Foundation, a South African NGO that has a comprehensive healthcare vision for children living with any type of facial abnormality or condition.

Smile Foundation collaborates with doctors and hospitals throughout South Africa, to put the smile back onto children’s faces with corrective facial reconstructive surgery and treatments.

“The Smile Foundation has helped over 4000 disadvantaged children with facial abnormalities, such as Cleft Lip and Palate, Moebius syndrome (facial paralysis) and burns, receive corrective plastic and reconstructive surgery. We are currently based in 12 of South Africa’s leading hospitals where we invest in development programs and purchase much needed medical equipment. With the compassion and support of our benefactors and teams of medical staff, we can sprinkle a little bit of magic into the lives of these children and give them a future full of joy.”
