COJ Valuation Objections 
The Deadline for objections to the new rates value of properties falling within the City of Joburg Municipality has expired and any owner who hasn’t yet objected to the new valuation of their property will have to object using the standard channels that are available to any owner. Late applications will only be processed after those who objected within the deadline.
Municipal Increases in rates, water, sewer, electricity, and refuse collection will be effective from 01 July 2023.
Property Owners are reminded that municipal increases are effective from 01 July 2023. Johannesburg property owners who didn’t object to the new valuation of their property, will have their property rates calculated based on the revised municipal valuation from 01 July 2023, for the next five years.
