Does your tenant need a statement?
Whitfields offers tenant statements as an option to investor owners.
Tenants will receive a separate statement for services in accordance with their lease agreements (Electricity and/or Water and/or Gas).
The benefits of the service are:
Tenants will be able to query the billings directly with Whitfields. They will have greater transparency (opening and closing readings shown)
They will pay into their own account using their unique account number
It takes the cost line item off the statement of the owner
Whitfields will co-ordinate a soft collection in the event of non-payment
Owners will receive a copy of the statement each month for their records
In a Sectional Titles scheme, the owner has the duty to inform the Body Corporate of a change in occupancy (Sectional Titles Schemes Management Act 13(1) f ) and it is good practice to have such a rule in place for Homeowners Associations too. This is also for security reasons as well as being able to contact the occupant in an emergency.
